The Apartment
This is a 2 bedroom apartment located
in Besiktas’ Ciragan
district, in the heart
of Istanbul. The apartment
is located in a 30 year old building that has 10 units.
It's on the entry level. You just need to go up a few stairs
before entering the
building. The building where the unit
is located is a quite and clean residential
building where
only families live. The front window of the unit has a
fence
for additional security.
The unit has all the amenities one would need in an apartment.
Also, the apartment
was renovated about 8 years ago, and
has been maintained very well since then.
There is a natural
gas heater in the apartment, which also provides hot water.
Living room is very comfortable
and gets plenty of light. There is a dining table with
4 chairs adjacent to the living room. Master bedroom
has a queen bed. The second
bedroom has a sofa bed, which
can accommodate 2 persons. There is a washing
machine
in the apartment but there is no dryer. Its kitchen is
small but it has all
the appliances & utensils
one would need. No dishwasher though as there is no
space
for it. The bathroom has a shower.
The unit has a TV set with a cable connection as well
as a DVD player. The cable
offers over 60 channels, of
which several are international channels (BBC, CNN,
MTV,
TV5, RTL and a few others). There is no phone line in the
unit since mobile
phones have become so convenient and
everybody has one. There is also a stereo
in the unit.
For your internet needs, there is an internet cafe within
walking distance
The Neighborhood Besiktas is located in the center of
Istanbul and provides easy access to every
part of the city. The historic city is about 20 minutes
away by car-taxi. You can
walk to the shore of the Bosphorus in 5 minutes, and take
a boat to anywhere.
Also, accessing to the business districts of Levent and
Maslak is highly easy.
Taksim-Beyoglu district, the entertainment center of Istanbul,
is about 15 minutes
away by car-taxi. Going to places like Ortakoy or Bebek
on the Bosphorus wouldn't
take more than 5-10 minutes by car. In fact, you can walk
to Ortakoy in 15 minutes,
passing by the famous Ciragan Palace-Kempinsky Hotel. If
you don't want to take a
taxi or walk, you can go everywhere by public buses or
shared taxis/minibuses
(We call them Dolmus).
Besiktas isn't great just because of its location. It's
also one of the oldest districts
of the great city of Istanbul. It's a place where you will
have a chance to observe
typical Turks doing business, shopping or just enjoying
their free times. One of
the 3 famous Turkish soccer teams, Besiktas, was born here.
Its traditional market
is one of the most unique places in the entire city. It
has a wide variety of restaurants.
It's also within walking distance to Dolmabahce Palace,
Yildiz Kasri, Naval Museum
and Art Museum as well as fancy shopping districts of Macka
and Tesvikiye. In terms
of shopping, it's a place where you can find everything
within walking distance.
Also, for your daily grocery shopping, there are several
grocery stores within
2-3 minutes walking distance.
The neighborhood where the building is located is a very
quite, clean and safe area
whose inhabitants are essentially upper middle-class people.
However, there are
several diplomats and upper income level Turks living in
the area's Bosphorus
viewing apartments.
